HTS has continued to innovate and adapt to the challenges the aviation community faces today. We’re busy looking at the current and future needs, and how HTS can continue to positively influence the industry. We have the fleet, experience, clients, and team to make positive change.Â
We have invested in programs to upgrade pilots to larger & multi-engine aircraft, building lower-time pilots’ experience, and increasing the skills of our current pilot roster to best meet the high standards of our clients.Â
The result? Several industry-leading initiatives to ensure a safe, qualified workforce while also providing room for advancement where there has been little to none in the last several decades. Opportunities should be open to any pilot with the skills to complete the mission, not to only those who know the right people.Â
At HTS, we are committed to launching your career with purpose and momentum. Upon joining our team, early-career pilots receive a PPC on the BH06 and gain immediate access to real-world flying opportunities, thanks to our proactive bidding on jobs designed to ensure safe and meaningful flight experience from day one. From there, we focus on building advanced skills such as slinging, long-lining, bucketing, and hover deplaning, helping pilots grow their confidence and capabilities for more complex missions. Our low-time positions are full-time and based in Carp, ON, or La Ronge, SK. When not flying, you’ll be actively involved in operations gear maintenance, hangar activities, and assisting engineering staff, gaining a well-rounded understanding of the industry. In your second year, HTS will advance you to the BH407, opening the door to even greater opportunities and experiences.
Looking to step up to medium aircraft operations without endless delays? HTS is proud to offer a clear and fast track to flying Bell 205s. If you have 1,000 hours PIC, external load experience, and a desire to grow, this program is your opportunity. We provide aircraft type endorsements and operational flying training, ensuring you gain the hours and experience required for forestry and other specialized missions. With HTS, you’ll not only complete your endorsement but also actively fly mediums in the same season, avoiding the long waits and limited opportunities that can stall progress elsewhere. This program also serves as a gateway to our Bell 212 fleet, paving the way for further advancement.
Are you ready to take your long-lining skills to the next level and enter the precision drill market? At HTS, we offer a comprehensive program designed to set you up for success. With our custom-designed training facility at our head office in Carp, ON, you’ll gain hands-on experience assembling and moving drills in a controlled environment. Once you’ve mastered the basics, you’ll shadow an experienced drill pilot in the field to learn the specifics of the job before moving drills independently. This program is an excellent opportunity to enhance your skillset and advance your career in a specialized and in-demand field.
Yes, once sufficient experience is gained on the 212, you are then eligible to upgrade to the SK70/UH-60 Black Hawk. Since we promote our own, the only way to get on this machine is to already be with the company. You can expect to be out on fires, completing precision lifts up to 8000 lbs, and generally doing everything this amazing platform is capable of.Â
We are only getting started. Looking forward, we continue to develop more programs aimed at specialty mission profiles, other aircraft types, and other areas of operation. In the meantime, we continue to excel at what we do already; forestry, expropriation, mining, aerial fire suppression, aerial construction, oil and gas, EMS, ENG, VIP transport, etc.Â
HTS will pull directly from our own Bell 205 pilots to upgrade to the 212 in as little as one season. We also accept applications from both experienced single-engine pilots as well as pilots with experience in other twin-engine machines looking to operate this type. Current HTS pilots on the 212 are also eligible to move onto the SK70/UH-60 Blackhawk.
