About HTS

About

Since 1976, Helicopter Transport Services (HTS) has grown from a single-aircraft operation based in North Bay, Ontario, to one of North America’s largest privately held helicopter operators. HTS operates a diverse fleet of more than sixty helicopters and fixed-wing support aircraft, providing reliable, specialized aviation services in the world’s most demanding environments. Our experienced, highly-trained flight crews reflect our commitment to safety and operational excellence.

We have accumulated over 500,000 flight hours, primarily in remote and rugged areas of the Americas. Our commitment to safety and operational excellence has earned us a reputation as a trusted partner for clients requiring dependable and efficient helicopter services.

HTS is dedicated to maintaining the highest safety and quality standards. Our robust management systems, training, and maintenance programs ensure that our aircraft are always in optimal condition. We are proud of our outstanding safety record, which is a testament to the expertise and professionalism of our team.

Beginning with its expansion into Quebec in 1984, the company soon acquired Huisson Helicopters in northern Ontario in 1988 and forged a partnership with Helicopter Transport Services in the United States in 1993.  The company further expanded its Quebec operation with the purchase of Héli-Max in Trois-Rivières, then westward with the acquisition of North Central Helicopters in La Ronge, Saskatchewan.

HTS remains committed to safety and operational excellence. Under the leadership of Denis Pilon, HTS continues to innovate and diversify, meeting the requirements of our clients around the globe.

Our History

Mr. Luc Pilon, pilot and entrepreneur, founded the one-man, one-helicopter enterprise then known as Nipissing Helicopters in North Bay, Ontario in 1976. Following a steady course of reinvestment and strategic acquisition, the company progressively grew its operation.
